When children have problems that affect their developing bodies – ranging from broken bones and sports injuries to spinal and neurological disorders – they need prompt care from orthopedic specialists. The experts in the Orthopedics Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals are knowledgeable and skilled in the latest and most effective techniques for diagnosing and treating all kinds of orthopedic conditions in children.
What's more, they understand the impact a condition may have on a child's physical, emotional and social development, and they have access to other UCSF specialists, when needed, to help address those issues. While our orthopedists' immediate goal is to relieve pain and improve function, their longer-term goal is to make sure every child returns to their own maximum degree of physical ability and health – and a great quality of life.
