Headache Center
U.S. News Best Hospitals

The UCSF Pediatric Headache Center is the first center of its kind on the West Coast, providing comprehensive clinic and hospital care to relieve the most debilitating headaches. In addition, the center conducts research, exploring the basic mechanisms of headache and how existing and new treatments might provide relief.

Our specialists work closely with you and your child's primary care doctor to develop a long-term, effective treatment plan. When appropriate, we also work with experts in neurosurgery; otolaryngology; ophthalmology; and those at the Osher Center for Integrative Medicine, which combines conventional and alternative medicine, such as acupuncture, herbs, massage and meditation for treating headaches.
