National Pancreas Foundation Center

UCSF's Pancreas Program is proud to be a National Pancreas Foundation Center.

The Pancreas Program is an interdisciplinary program that specializes in the care of children with acute and chronic pancreatic disease. Our team includes specialists in gastroenterology, pediatric and transplant surgery, pain management, endocrinology, radiology social work and nutrition who collaborate in order to provide the best care for children with pancreatic disease.

We provide comprehensive, coordinated outpatient and inpatient care for children and adolescents. We are the only center in the Western United States to offer total pancreatectomy with islet cell auto-transplant for pediatric patients. We also participate in the largest U.S. research consortium dedicated to pediatric pancreatitis: International Study Group of Pediatric Pancreatitis: In Search for a Cure (INSPPIRE).

Our program is growing, thanks to a generous gift from Marc and Lynne Benioff. Read more here.
