Pediatric Pain Management Clinic

The Pediatric Pain Management Clinic at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital San Francisco specializes in children affected by a variety of acute and chronic pain conditions, including patients with amplified pain syndrome.

Our multidisciplinary approach to pain and symptom management includes medication management; nerve-blocking techniques with or without fluoroscopic assistance; implantable pumps; and complementary therapies, such as acupuncture and acupressure.

Before the first appointment, we work with families and referring providers to collect pertinent information on the child's medical needs. This allows us to schedule an appointment with the provider who can best address and treat your child's pain.

Physicians, nurse practitioners, pain psychologists and other care providers work together to assess the patient. The team also collaborates to develop an individualized treatment plan with the child's primary care team and family.

If the child’s needs exceed the range of services our clinic provides, we work to identify another provider at UCSF who can provide the necessary treatment. Our medical center offers a full scope of services to ensure continuity of care.

You'll need a referral from your child's pediatrician or specialist to make an appointment. Once you have the referral, please call the number below.
