Ophthalmology Clinic

UCSF Pediatric Ophthalmology is a comprehensive eye clinic with a multidisciplinary team that offers consultation, evaluation and treatment for pediatric eye disorders ranging from the most common to the extremely rare and complex. For children who require eye surgery, our pediatric ophthalmologists perform procedures such as eye muscle surgery for the correction of strabismus, cataract extraction, nasolacrimal duct probing and ptosis repair.

  • Blocked tear ducts (congenital nasolacrimal duct obstruction)

What to Bring

  • All medical records relevant to your child's condition from the referring physician, if available. This includes diagnostic imaging like CT scans, MRI, radiograph, etc.
  • Glasses if your child wears them
  • List of all medications and prescriptions
  • Appointment information: the doctor's name and the appointment location and time
  • Insurance card
  • Primary care physician's name, address and telephone number
  • Referring physician's name, address and telephone number
  • Co-payment if required by insurance
