BLOOM: The Black Baby Equity Clinic

UCSF BLOOM: The Black Baby Equity Clinic provides primary care for children – from newborn to 3 years – whose self-identifying Black families prefer Black care providers. We connect each family to a Black pediatrician, mental health provider, lactation professional and patient navigator.

Patients don't need a referral but must meet health insurance requirements. For newborn patients, caregivers should inform the birthing hospital that they want their child to be seen at the UCSF Claremont Clinic and specify the BLOOM Clinic. Hospital providers should ensure the child has a follow-up appointment before discharge. If they don't, please call us to schedule one. Be sure to bring discharge papers and your child's health insurance card to the visit.
