Dr. Sabrina Karim is a pediatric gastroenterologist who partners with children and families to diagnose and manage gastrointestinal and digestive conditions. She has a special interest in celiac disease and is committed to improving how care is delivered, from timely screening and diagnosis to long-term management, so that families are supported at every step of the journey.
In her research, Karim has explored how neighborhood and social factors shape the growth of children, particularly with respect to the timing of puberty.
Karim earned her medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Boston Children’s Hospital and Boston Medical Center in the Boston Combined Residency Program, where she served as a chief resident, and then completed her fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at Boston Children's Hospital.
In addition to caring for patients, Karim is passionate about medical education. She enjoys designing curricula that incorporates principles of health equity into pediatric training, as well as developing innovative AI-powered teaching tools to help train the next generation of pediatric clinicians.
