Dr. Robert Wallerstein is a geneticist who provides specific diagnoses informed by genetic counseling and testing, seeking to ensure that patients receive personalized care. He specializes in the genetics of neurological conditions, including autism, neuromuscular disorders and hearing loss.
Wallerstein earned his medical degree at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, and a fellowship in medical genetics at Thomas Jefferson University.
In his research, Wallerstein investigates ways to use genetic testing in patient care and studies the natural history of genetic conditions. His interests include the identification of genetic syndromes. He is a diplomate of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics, American Board of Genetic Counseling and American Board of Pediatrics.
