Dr. Phillip Moore is a cardiologist who specializes in treating congenital heart disease. He is chief of the UCSF Division of Cardiology.

Moore directs UCSF's pediatric cardiac catheterization laboratory. He is active in developing and testing new catheter-based devices and procedures (using the small tubes called catheters, which can enter blood vessels and reach the heart, to diagnose and treat heart conditions).

Moore earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed a residency in pediatrics at the University of Washington Medical Center. He completed a fellowship in pediatric cardiology at UCSF.

Moore is internationally known for his work on patent ductus arteriosus (a congenital heart defect) and atrial septal defect device closure (an implant that can correct a hole in the wall between the heart's upper chambers). He is also known for his work on using magnetic resonance imaging to guide catheter-based treatments of congenital heart disease.
