Dr. Jason E. Jagodzinski is an orthopedic surgeon for children with musculoskeletal trauma, skeletal deformities and neuromuscular conditions. He has special interests in pediatric fractures and management of traumatic injuries, limb deformities and osteogenesis imperfecta (brittle bone disease) and in the care of neuromuscular conditions. He is the co-director of Perioperative Services at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
In his research, Jagodzinski focuses on such topics in pediatric orthopedics as pediatric trauma, sports injuries and prevention, and how to effectively provide informed consent and parental understanding for specific conditions with in-person and video reviews.
Jagodzinski earned his medical degree at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed a residency in orthopedic surgery at Loyola University Hospitals, followed by a fellowship in pediatric orthopedic surgery at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta – Scottish Rite Hospital, where he received further training in general pediatric orthopedics, pediatric sports medicine and neuromuscular care.
In addition to caring for patients, Jagodzinski has a background in sports. He was on the offensive line of the football team for three years at the University of Chicago, where he received his undergraduate degree. He was a member and officer of the Order of the "C," the university's varsity letterman's club.
