Helen Lau is a pediatric nurse practitioner who cares for children with craniofacial conditions (those affecting the skull or face). She specializes in treating complex cases and seeks to ensure the best care by collaborating with colleagues in various departments.

Lau earned her master's degree in nursing, with a focus on pediatrics, at UCSF.

Before coming to UCSF, Lau worked in Los Angeles as well as Honolulu, where she received a nurse of the year award for her patient care and professional leadership. Her community work there helped pass legislation mandating orthodontic insurance coverage for children born with craniofacial anomalies in Hawaii.
