Erika Vopnford is a pediatric nurse practitioner who cares for children and adolescents with blood cancers or other blood disorders. She guides patients and their families from diagnosis to survivorship or end-of-life care, helping them cope with the emotional and medical complexities of a serious illness. She performs assessments, plans treatments, manages symptoms, and coordinates care from the various members of a patient's medical team. Her particular interests include integrating palliative care into all treatment plans to enhance quality of life at every stage; supporting parents of young children as they navigate difficult decisions; and advocating for the unique needs of adolescents and young adults to ensure they feel seen, understood and empowered throughout their journeys.
Vopnford earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at Texas Woman's University and her doctor of nursing practice degree at Creighton University. She earned a certificate in palliative care at the University of Washington.
Outside the clinic, Vopnford is a loyal companion to two cats and a Great Dane.
