Call this number if your child is:
  • Sick
  • Unable to eat or drink
  • Vomiting
  • Having severe low blood sugar you cannot stabilize
  • In need of glucagon Urinating moderate to large ketones
  • Has been given the wrong insulin dose

For Emergencies—Call 911

If your child is unconscious, has a seizure, or is unresponsive:

  1. Test their blood sugar.
  2. If it is low, inject glucagon.
  3. Call 911.
