Claire Parker, PNP

Pediatric nurse practitioner

Claire Parker is a pediatric nurse practitioner at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital who specializes in the treatment of pediatric pulmonary hypertension, a type of high blood pressure affecting the lungs and heart.

Along with professionals from eight other children's hospitals in the U.S. and Canada, Parker belongs to the Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension Network (PPHNet), an organization that aims to improve health care for children with pulmonary vascular disease. She also participates in several clinical trials for medications used to treat pulmonary hypertension. Parker received a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., and a master's degree from the acute care pediatric nurse practitioner program at the UCSF School of Nursing.

Parker often serves as a moderator for the nursing workshop at the International Conference Neonatal and Childhood Pulmonary Vascular Disease.
