Dr. Yvette Wild is a pediatric gastroenterologist who cares for children with food allergies, swallowing problems or other conditions affecting intestinal health, including cystic fibrosis. She focuses on her patients' growth, development and nutritional health. She serves as director of the UCSF Eosinophilic Gastrointestinal Disease Clinic.
Wild's research focuses on understanding and treating irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), particularly in cases with constipation. She is the primary investigator on studies investigating the effects of certain IBS medications in children whose IBS includes constipation.
Wild earned her medical degree from the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, where she also earned a master of public health degree with a focus on maternal and child health. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, followed by a fellowship in pediatric gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at UCSF. She also has a master's degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University and a master of advanced study degree in clinical research and epidemiology from UCSF.
Wild belongs to the American Academy of Pediatrics and North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition. She mentors medical students at UCSF. In her free time, she enjoys being with her family, swimming, practicing yoga and playing the piano.
