Dr. William S. Binder specializes in neonatal-perinatal medicine, a field that focuses on premature and critically ill newborns. He cares for the hospital's smallest and sickest babies in the neonatal intensive care unit.

Binder's main research interest is the impact of pediatric critical illness on families.

Binder earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Orange County, followed by two fellowships in neonatal-perinatal medicine, one at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and one at the University of California, Los Angeles. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a member of the California Association of Neonatologists.

Binder is a World Air Sports Federation World Record holder for having participated in skydiving's largest free-fall formation, which had 400 linked skydivers and was set in 2006 in Udon Thani, Thailand.
