Shawna M. Ward is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients in the pediatric intensive care unit. She works closely with many types of specialists to ensure each patient's complex needs are met.
Passionate about every aspect of nursing, Ward especially loves education. She enjoys teaching not only patients and families but also coworkers and students, helping them grow as care providers. She thrives in a teaching hospital like UCSF, where education is a part of daily working life.
Ward earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Cincinnati and her master's degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Arlington. She is certified as a pediatric nurse practitioner in acute care.
Outside of the clinic, Ward loves watching cooking shows, hiking, and hanging with her dog.
