Marlene Maria Crespo is a psychologist who cares for children and their families. She performs neurodevelopmental assessments and provides individual and family therapy, specializing in culturally sensitive therapy for Spanish-speaking immigrant families.
Crespo's research interests include trauma-informed treatment techniques for helping children with neurodevelopmental differences address fear; assessments as interventions, and their effects on young children and caregivers; and culturally sensitive and culturally specific approaches to care for depressed immigrant Latina patients. She has published extensively on these topics.
Crespo earned a master's degree in psychology and her doctor of psychology degree from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She is certified in infant-family and early childhood mental health and in relational therapy, which focuses on the importance of relationships to an individual's emotional well-being. She is also trained in trauma-informed assessment and interventions and in caring for patients with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental challenges.
