Dr. Margaret Lin-Martore is a pediatric emergency care doctor with expertise in point-of-care ultrasound, a portable imaging tool for both diagnosis and treatment. In addition to UCSF, she cares for patients at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.
Lin-Martore's research focuses on point-of-care ultrasound and its use in the pediatric emergency room, as well as how best to teach and learn its use. She is also interested in health literacy and patient-doctor communication in the emergency department, and has published articles on these subjects.
Lin-Martore earned her medical degree at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis. She completed a residency in emergency medicine at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, an affiliate of Harvard Medical School, where she also completed an emergency ultrasound fellowship. She later completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, also an affiliate of Harvard Medical School.
Lin-Martore is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Society for Academic Emergency Medicine and P2 Network (a community of pediatric emergency doctors who specialize in point-of-care ultrasound). She serves as co-director of UCSF's fellowship program in pediatric emergency ultrasound.
