Social worker
Kelly Earls is a social worker who provides emotional support and counseling to pediatric cardiac patients and their families during hospitalization. Her patients have a range of congenital heart defects (those that are present at birth) or heart failure. She works closely with medical providers, advocates for families, and connects parents and other caregivers with appropriate in-hospital or community resources.
Earls earned dual master's degrees in social welfare and public health from the University of California, Berkeley.
