Pronouns: She | Her | Hers

Julie Elis is a pediatric nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for children with sickle cell disease (an inherited blood disorder). She helps develop comprehensive care plans with the goal of enabling patients to live full lives outside the hospital, and she supports young adults as they transition from pediatric to adult care.

Elis earned her master's degree in nursing at UCSF.

Elis has lived and worked in countries throughout sub-Saharan Africa, South Asia and Southeast Asia. She served as a peace corps volunteer in Namibia, where she provided HIV/AIDS education to young people. She has benefited tremendously from seeing the many ways people around the world thrive. This has helped her develop a nonjudgmental and individualized approach to care.
