Pain medicine physician and pediatric anesthesiologist
Dr. Jocelyn Wong is a pediatric anesthesiologist who specializes in managing pain in children (acute or chronic) as well as anesthesia for children. She serves as medical director of pediatric regional anesthesia (blocking pain in a specific part of the body) and perioperative pain medicine, and she chairs the hospitals' committee on pediatric pain. Her goal as medical director is to make surgery a less difficult experience for young patients by using the latest techniques in pain medicine and regional anesthesia.
In research, Wong has presented findings and led workshops at national conferences on pediatric anesthesia, chronic pain and regional anesthesia. Her work focuses on improving pain control after surgery for pediatric patients and how a collaborative approach by multiple specialists can better manage chronic pain.
Wong earned her medical degree at the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth, where she graduated with honors. She completed a residency in anesthesiology at Stanford University School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a fellowship in pediatric pain medicine at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
