Pediatrician

About me

Dr. William "Billy" Burrough is a pediatrician and addiction medicine specialist who cares for children, adolescents and young adults. He partners with patients and their families to support healthy development, with a special focus on behavioral health and substance use disorders. He has a particular interest in caring for young people experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, drug and alcohol problems, and other behavioral health conditions, as well as family conflict and the effects of early childhood adversity. He has specialized training in primary care psychiatry and integrates behavioral health services into pediatric primary care. He especially enjoys getting to know his patients and their families, understanding what motivates them and serving as a guide along their journey to better health. Together, they work to build safe, effective coping strategies and the tools and confidence needed to navigate life's complexities.

Burrough grew up in Wisconsin and earned his medical degree, as well as a master's degree in public health, from the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He completed his pediatric residency at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.

In addition to caring for patients, Burrough is passionate about improving access to evidence-based care for underserved youth, including those involved in the juvenile justice system. He also enjoys teaching pediatricians, medical trainees and other health professionals about adolescent substance use and addiction treatment.

Outside of work, Burrough enjoys exploring new parts of the Bay Area with his wife, spending time outdoors, listening to audiobooks and solving puzzles.
