Dr. Sandra Wai is a neonatologist who cares for critically ill newborns. She has special interests in bronchopulmonary dysplasia (a chronic lung disease of infants), pulmonary hypertension (high blood pressure in the arteries of the lungs), fetal growth restriction (a condition in which the gestating baby isn't a normal size because of slow growth), and growth and nutrition for newborns. She serves as medical directory of the Severe Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
Wai earned her medical degree from Loma Linda University School of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, followed by a fellowship in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of Colorado School of Medicine.
