Saam Morshed

Dr. Saam Morshed is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in caring for patients with traumatic injuries such as broken bones. He treats fractures of the pelvis, arm, elbow, shoulder, ankle, foot, leg and knee.

In his research, Morshed studies skeletal injuries to develop new techniques for fracture repair and rehabilitation. He also looks at how to prevent post-traumatic arthritis.

Morshed earned his medical degree at UCSF, where he completed a residency in orthopedic surgery. During his residency he was awarded a clinical research and training fellowship from the Orthopaedic Research and Education Society, which funded his studies toward a master's of public health degree and, later, a doctorate in epidemiology from the University of California, Berkeley. He also completed an orthopedic trauma fellowship at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.

Morshed is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, AO North America, Foundation for Orthopedic Trauma and Institute for Global Orthopaedics and Traumatology.
