Dr. Emin Maltepe is an attending neonatologist at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. He is on service in the intensive care nursery for six weeks a year and on night call for 36 days a year. Maltepe's research focuses on hypoxia, epigenetics, placenta, in utero programming of adult disease and neonatal outcomes.

Maltepe received his medical degree from the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed an internship, a residency and a fellowship in pediatrics at UCSF.
