Dr. Daniel Shapiro specializes in emergency care for sick and injured children. His expertise encompasses a wide range of conditions.

Shapiro's research focuses on improving the quality of care for common illnesses, including respiratory tract infections, by studying the benefits and harms of frequently used tests and treatments.

Shapiro earned his medical degree from UCSF. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Boston Children's Hospital and Boston Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children's Hospital. He also completed the Harvard-wide Pediatric Health Services Research Fellowship Program, through which he earned a master of public health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
