Pronouns: She | Her | Hers

Dr. Christina V. Theodoris is a medical geneticist who specializes in pediatric cardiovascular disease (disorders of the heart and blood vessels).

At her research lab, Theodoris develops artificial intelligence models that learn from large-scale biological data to understand how networks of genes interact to regulate normal development and how these networks are disrupted in disease. She then applies these models to map gene networks driving cardiovascular disease and design network-correcting therapies. Honors recognizing her work include the NIH (National Institutes of Health) Director's Early Independence Award, Searle Scholars Award and Burroughs Wellcome Fund's Career Award for Medical Scientists.

Theodoris completed her undergraduate degree in biology at the California Institute of Technology (Caltech). She earned her medical degree as well as a doctorate in developmental and stem biology at UCSF. She completed a combined residency in pediatrics and medical genetics at Boston Children's Hospital, serving as chief resident in her final year. She also completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Broad Institute, a biomedical research collaboration between the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Harvard University.
