David A. Arakawa is a physical therapist who examines, evaluates and treats children and teenagers with sports injuries. He is the coordinator for UCSF's residency program in orthopedic physical therapy.

Arakawa earned a master's degree in physical therapy from the Western University of Health Sciences.

Arakawa loves spending quality time with his family and friends. He also enjoys playing golf, working out, and visiting Napa and Sonoma counties.

One of the best parts of my job is following the path of my athletes from early stages of rehabilitation to their return to competition.
