Christina Louie Nakamura is a family nurse practitioner with special interests in diabetes, high blood pressure, nutrition counseling and preventive medicine. Her goal is to empower patients to take charge of their own well-being and to make health decisions that will positively impact their lives.
Louie Nakamura believes passionately that health is a fundamental human right. She is committed to the idea that all people have equal worth and deserve to be treated with dignity.
Louie Nakamura earned her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at Columbia University, where she completed the Family Nurse Practitioner Program. For the six years before she joined UCSF, she practiced family medicine, providing primary care for predominantly Spanish-speaking patients in East Los Angeles. She belongs to the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
A Bay Area native, Louie Nakamura enjoys running, photography, traveling and exploring San Francisco's many neighborhoods.
