Dr. Beth Apsel Winger cares for children and adolescents with various types of cancer and blood disorders. She has a special interest in personalized therapies (treatments based on a patient's genetics or other individual factors).

In her research, Winger focuses on improving precision medicine, specifically how to match a patient with the right drug at the right dose.

Winger earned a doctorate in chemistry and chemical biology as well as her medical degree at UCSF. She also completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology at UCSF.

Winger is proud to come from a family of teachers. Her twin sister works in education and education policy.
