Dr. April Zaat is a pediatric hospitalist, a specialist in managing the care of hospitalized children. One of her top priorities is earning the trust and confidence of her patients and their families as they navigate the hospital system. She works collaboratively on developing treatment plans focused on the needs of individual children, with the goal of getting them back home as quickly and safely as possible. She serves as associate director of hospital medicine at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
Zaat earned her medical degree at UCSF. She completed her residency in pediatrics at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland, serving as chief resident.
Zaat is passionate about medical education. She enjoys working closely with students and residents during their pediatric training at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
