Dr. Danilo Bernardo is a pediatric neurologist who cares for children with epilepsy. He specializes in treating epilepsy that begins in early childhood as well as drug-resistant epilepsy. His expertise includes surgical treatments for drug-resistant epilepsy.

His research focuses on developing new computational approaches – using computers and mathematics – to guide the diagnosis and treatment of severe forms of childhood-onset epilepsy.

He earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine, where he also completed a residency in neurology. At the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, he completed a residency in child neurology and a fellowship in clinical neurophysiology and pediatric epilepsy.

He is a member of the American Epilepsy Society, American Clinical Neurophysiology Society, American Academy of Neurology and Child Neurology Society. As a resident in 2012, he received a Teaching Award for Excellence in Medical Education from Kaiser Permanente.
