satisfaction and patient safety, according to a new report by HealthGrades.

UCSF Medical Center was the only hospital in California to lead in patient satisfaction and patient safety, according to the new report by HealthGrades.

UCSF Medical Center is one of only ten California hospitals that received the award for patient satisfaction.

For HealthGrades' Patient Safety Excellence Award, based on performance on core measures, 24 hospitals in California made the list and again UCSF Medical Center was among them.

Across the nation, 46 hospitals were recognized as leaders in both offering excellent patient experiences and patient safety, but only one hospital in the entire State of California was a leader in both categories: UCSF Medical Center.

"For more than a decade, we have been on a quest to elevate the clinical services that UCSF provides to equal the quality of research for which UCSF has been so well known nationally and internationally," said Mark Laret, chief executive officer of UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. "We are very close to achieving that goal."
