Caring for a baby or child in the hospital is stressful for parents and other family members. The Parent Support Program at our San Francisco campus offers comfort, guidance and encouragement. Staffed by parent liaisons who know firsthand the experience of having a hospitalized child, the program provides peer-to-peer help for families navigating their child’s care. You can find these helpers in the Center for Families, located on the sixth floor of the San Francisco hospital, in room C 6421. The center is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The Center for Families also offers computers, printers, toiletries, discount parking vouchers, coffee and tea, a medical reference library, laundry soap, newspapers and other items you may need. In addition to the Parent Support Program, the center hosts activities to help stressed parents, such as a walking group and a discussion roundtable.
