Shelli Newman is an audiologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating hearing disorders in pediatric patients, including infants. She performs comprehensive, developmentally appropriate diagnostic evaluations. This includes the auditory brain stem response exam (a neurologic test used to estimate hearing sensitivity), either under general anesthesia or during natural sleep.

Newman enjoys working with patients and their families on strategies to enrich hearing and communication. She guides them on amplification selection and uses proven approaches to fitting assistive listening devices as well as teaching patients how to use them.

Newman earned her doctor of audiology degree from the joint program of San Diego State University and the University of California, San Diego. She is a member of the American Auditory Society.
