Pediatric nurse practitioner

Genevieve Handy is a nurse practitioner who cares for children having heart surgery. To ensure the best outcome for each patient, she works with a team of specialists before and during the procedure and throughout the hospital stay.
Handy earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from Samuel Merritt University and a master's degree in nursing from UCSF with a focus in acute care pediatric nursing. She also completed the UCSF post-master's program in primary care for pediatric nurse practitioners.
Handy volunteers regularly with Operation Smile, a nonprofit organization that provides free surgery for children born with cleft lip and cleft palate defects.
