Pediatric nurse practitioner
Anne Boekelheide has been a nurse at UCSF for more than 30 years, with a focus on caring for pediatric patients with craniofacial (skull and face) abnormalities. Her special interest is in feeding and breathing issues in newborns with craniofacial conditions.
Boekelheide earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Portland. She earned her master's degree in nursing and completed her training as a pediatric nurse practitioner at UCSF.
Boekelheide is active in the American Cleft Palate – Craniofacial Association. She has lectured at numerous training courses and participated in nursing research on care for these conditions. She co-authored a chapter on cleft lip and cleft palate in Primary Care of the Child With a Chronic Condition, a resource book for health professionals.
