Family House, a "home away from home" for families of children with cancer, will host its 21st annual dinner and auction on Saturday, April 27 at Pac Bell Park. "Field of Dreams" is the theme of this year’s event. Dinner and drinks will be served on the AAA Concourse Level of the ballpark where guests will have a spectacular view of the stadium and the bay.

Tickets are $125 per person. Proceeds will help support the new 24-room building at 1234 10th Ave., which opens this fall in San Francisco to supplement the existing 10-room house at 50 Irving St.

Family House currently serves the families of about 600 children a year and expects to increase that number to more than 2,000 with the new facility. Families who rely on Family House travel from throughout the country and the world to UCSF Children’s Hospital for specialized care. With the new 10th Avenue facility, Family House expects to expand its services beyond housing children with cancer to include children with other serious diseases as well.

Linda and Keena Turner, longtime Family House board members, are co-chairs of the April 27 fundraiser. Keena will host the event with Larry Baer, executive vice president of the Giants.

Gifts to be auctioned include a cruise to Europe, walking tour in southern France, fine wines, restaurant and hotel gift certificates, art objects and handmade quilts
