Monica Volz is a nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for patients with movement disorders. She educates and prepares patients who are undergoing deep brain stimulation (DBS) surgery, in which surgeons implant a device that sends electric signals to regulate brain activity. She helps facilitate every stage of their care.

Volz serves as the research nurse coordinator for a multicenter long-term study of DBS and patients with Parkinson's disease.

Volz earned her master's degree in nursing at San Francisco State University.
