Leanne Parsons, MSN

Nurse

Leanne Parsons is a nurse who works with pediatric patients who have retinoblastoma, a cancerous tumor of the retina, the light-sensitive tissue at the back of the eye. She works closely with ocular oncologists, educating families about the condition and helping to coordinate patients' care. She communicates with specialty providers in pediatric oncology, anesthesia, radiology and ophthalmology. She serves as nurse coordinator for the Retinoblastoma Program at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.

Parsons is passionate about cancer treatment for pediatric patients. Championing a team approach to their care, she collaborates with doctors, social workers, geneticists and other inpatient providers.

Parsons earned her bachelor's degree in nursing at Boston University and her master's degree in nursing at UCSF. She has devoted most of her career to the UCSF Pediatric Oncology Clinic. She has also worked in the UCSF radiation oncology clinics, caring for pediatric as well as adult patients with gastrointestinal conditions.
