Lauren Ostling, MD

Dr. Lauren Ostling is a neurosurgeon and co-director of the Pediatric Neuroscience Center at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. Her specialties include spasticity, tethered cord (a disorder in which the spinal cord is abnormally attached to another structure in the spine), brain tumors, hydrocephalus (fluid accumulation in the brain) and neurotrauma (traumatic injuries that damage the nervous system).

Ostling earned her medical degree at the University of Cincinnati. She completed a residency in neurosurgery at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center and a fellowship in pediatric neurosurgery at UCSF.
