Gail Shibata, MD

Pediatric anesthesiologist

Dr. Gail Shibata is a specialist in pediatric anethesiology at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital with expertise in neuroanesthesia, especially the anesthetic management of pediatric patients undergoing surgery for myelomeningocele, tethered cord and intracranial tumors.

Shibata earned a medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed residencies at UC Davis Medical Center and UCLA Medical Center. She also completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Stanford Hospital. Shibata, who has a master' degree in public health, is an assistant clinical professor in pediatrics at UCSF.
