Gail Shibata

Pediatric anesthesiologist

Dr. Gail Shibata is a specialist in pediatric anesthesiology with expertise in neuroanesthesia, a subspecialty focused on improving anesthetic outcomes for patients with neurological disorders. She has a particular focus on the anesthetic management of pediatric patients undergoing surgery for myelomeningocele, tethered spinal cord and intracranial tumors.

Shibata earned her medical degree at the George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed residencies in surgery and anesthesiology at UCSF and UCLA, followed by a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Stanford Hospital. She also has a master of public health degree.
