Emilia De Marchis

MD MAS

Family physician
Avid trail runner and skier

Dr. Emilia De Marchis is a family practice doctor who provides comprehensive primary care to patients of all ages. She enjoys caring for patients throughout their lives, and working with them to develop plans that fit with their current and future health goals. She is interested in how social structures (including family life, sense of safety and access to nutritious food) can impact patients' health.

In her research, De Marchis evaluates ways to improve how doctors screen for and address social risk factors (including race, socioeconomic status and stress levels), in an effort to reduce health disparities. Her overarching goal is to integrate this kind of patient data into the medical system, leading to higher quality preventive health care.

De Marchis earned her medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. At UCSF, she completed a residency in family medicine and a fellowship in primary care research, as well as a master of advanced study degree in clinical research.

De Marchis is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians. In her free time, she enjoys trail running, skiing, cooking, and being with family and friends.
