Pediatric psychologist
Midwesterner turned West Coaster
Alexandra Ross is a psychologist in the UCSF Pediatric Brain Center, where she specializes in evaluating and treating children with chronic headaches and other neurological disorders. She helps patients and their families develop cognitive and behavioral skills for managing symptoms and improving quality of life. She also collaborates with children's medical providers and schools to ensure the best care possible for her patients.
Ross earned her doctorate in clinical psychology, with a focus on child development, at the University of Southern California. She completed an internship in clinical psychology at the Institute on Development and Disability at Oregon Health & Science University, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric pain psychology at Stanford University School of Medicine.
Ross is a member of the American Headache Society and serves as chair of its behavioral section. She also belongs to the American Psychological Association and Society of Pediatric Psychology.
On the weekends, Ross spends time exploring California with her family, including her grumpy terrier, Izzy.
