Steven Bin

Pediatric emergency care physician

Dr. Steven Bin is a specialist in emergency medical care of sick and injured children with a wide range of conditions. He is medical director of the UCSF Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. His particular interests include family-centered care, medical education and quality improvement in health care.

Bin earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. He completed a residency in pediatrics at Jackson Memorial Hospital, the primary teaching hospital for the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Boston Children's Hospital, the pediatric teaching hospital for Harvard Medical School.

Bin has received numerous honors, including awards for excellence in teaching from both the UCSF Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators and the UCSF Department of Pediatrics. He is a fellow of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Pediatrics and American College of Emergency Physicians.
