A parent support network at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital gives parents the opportunity to discuss issues of worry or concern with other parents in similar situations. Parents also can meet individually with other parents. Ask any member of the pediatric cancer team for more information.
Parents of children who received bone marrow transplants at UCSF share practical advice and support one another and are encouraged to attend while their children are in the hospital and after their children return home. Coffee and light snacks are provided by Starbucks.
Meetings are held monthly at UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital, 505 Parnassus Ave., in the Long wing waiting room on the seventh floor. Call social worker Amanda Kice at (415) 353-2896 for more information.
Your local chapter of the American Cancer Society can let you know about support groups that meet in your community.

Ask any member of your pediatric cancer team about parent support groups.
