

Radiologist
Dr. Roy Filly is cofounder of the Fetal Treatment Center at the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital and chief of diagnostic sonography. His specialty is the detection and observation of fetal birth defects through ultrasound.
After completing undergraduate studies at Ohio University, Filly attended Ohio State University College of Medicine, graduating summa cum laude. He completed a residency in diagnostic radiology at Stanford University, where he also served as chief resident and received the Robert Reid Newell Award. He is a fellow in the Society of Radiologists in Ultrasound and the American Institute of Ultrasound Medicine.
Filly has co-authored two textbooks, created an interactive teaching CD-ROM and published more than 400 scientific manuscripts. In addition, he has appeared regularly in the publication Best Doctors in America and has received numerous awards for his work as a doctor and professor, including the William J. Fry Memorial Award, the highest award for an American sonologist.
