

Interventional neuroradiologist
A renowned interventional neuroradiologist and expert in the diagnosis and treatment of stroke, Dr. Randall T. Higashida serves as chief of the Division of Interventional Neurovascular Radiology at UCSF Medical Center. Higashida earned his medical degree from the School of Medicine at Tulane University in New Orleans, La. He completed his residency and fellowship at the University of California, Los Angeles Medical Center.
Higashida is a member of numerous scientific committees and medical associations, including the Cerebrovascular Neurosurgery Task Force Committee and the American Heart Association Research Committee. He served as a chairman of the American Heart Association Council on Cardiovascular Radiology & Interventions and is past president of the Society of Neurointerventional Surgery. Currently, Higashida holds the position of clinical professor of radiology, neurological surgery, neurology and anesthesiology at UCSF Medical Center.
