Jay Tureen

Dr. Jay Tureen is a pediatric hospitalist, who coordinates the care of children while in the hospital, and an infectious disease specialist, who focuses on infections of the central nervous system. In his research, he has examined the mechanisms of brain injury in bacterial meningitis.

Tureen earned a medical degree at St. Louis University in Missouri and completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in infectious disease at UCSF. He is a clinical professor of pediatrics and infectious disease at UCSF.
